League of Women Voters of the Calumet Area is a non-partisan, grass roots, multi-issue organization open to all citizens over the age of 18 that encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government.

League organization is parallel to the three levels of government: local, state, and national.

We study and then act upon local, national, and international issues such as budgets for state, local and individual taxes and the U.S. role in the United Nations. We also moderate debates among candidates for local office.

We advocate for changes in the political process, including campaign finance reforms that make elections fair by reducing special interest influence.
