International Undergraduate Admission Requirements
The following requirements must be met for admission to Purdue University Calumet.
- Apply for International Admission: There is no application fee required.

- You must be a graduate of an accredited secondary school and prove secondary school graduation by submitting official academic transcripts and if appropriate true and attested English translations.
- You must meet the Academic Standards for admission set by Purdue University Calumet's Academic Departments.
- For admission into a degree seeking major, you must prove proficiency in the English Language by achieving one of the following and submitting an official test score report:
- A TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 550, paper and pencil test, or 79, internet Based TOEFL (iBT).
- A grade of at least a B in English at the ordinary level of G.C.E. (General Certificate of Education) or G.C.S.E. (General Certificate of Secondary Education).
- A Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) verbal score of 480 or greater.
- Transferable credit from an accredited US institution of higher education equivalent to Purdue University Calumet’s ENGL 104, English Composition course.
- An IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Score of 6.5.
Note: If you did not take or have low English proficiency scores for entry into a degree seeking major, you may still be eligible for admission into Purdue University Calumet's English Language Program (ELP). If you are interested in ELP, please mark English Training on the application and English proficiency scores will not be required for admission. All other admission requirements remain the same.
- If you have attended any other college or university and plan to transfer credit hours to Purdue University Calumet as an undergraduate student, you must complete the Transfer Credit Documentation Sheet (available at www.calumet.purdue.edu/admissions/tcds.pdf), submit a $30.00 (US) transfer credit evaluation fee, official academic transcripts sent directly from an accredited college or university and if appropriate true and attested English translations.

Tuition and Fees
In order to enroll at Purdue University Calumet, you must provide a letter from a bank, employer, or financial sponsor indicating evidence that you have adequate financial support. The necessary amount of financial support is determined by the university and is subject to change. The necessary dollar figures would need to be equal or better than the total listed under estimated expenses. It is important to note that, as an international student, any paid employment in which you may wish to engage must be on the campus of Purdue University Calumet. You may work up to 20 hours per week on campus. You are also required to purchase medical insurance while in the USA.
Expenses
Although the admission decisions are made without evidence of financial support, Certificates of Eligibility (either form I-20 used for F-1 student visa or from IAP-66 for J-1 student visa) cannot be prepared without such evidence. A Certificate of Eligibility (COE) is needed to apply for a student visa at the American embassy or consulate board.

Married students should add an additional $4,500.00 for a spouse and $2,500.00 for each child traveling to the USA.
Notification of Application Status
After receiving your application materials, Purdue University Calumet will notify you of your application status (incomplete or complete). If your application is incomplete, the missing materials will be listed in a letter addressed to the applicant. Please allow a minimum of eight weeks after the complete file is received for notification of an admission decision. If you are accepted, you will receive the necessary documents to begin preparation for entering the USA to begin your studies at Purdue University Calumet. |
