Personal
Network Storage (H:Drive)The H: Drive is a personal Network drive. Every student, faculty and staff member with a Novell (computer) account has space personally allocated to them on the Network for storage. This space appears in the form of another drive, an H: drive. You can see this drive listed on the computer by using My Computer or Windows Explorer. This drive space can be used to store personal files, coursework, or any other type of file you wish to save.
The advantages of using this storage space for your files rather than floppy or zip disks include the following:
This drive is accessible by you and only you - computer login required.
This drive is accessible from any computer on campus when you login.
This drive is accessible over the Internet using your Purdue University Calumet network login.
Data on the drive is backed up regularly so you don’t have to worry about missing or corrupt files.
Space on this drive is limited. Students are allotted 25mb each. Therefore, you should be cautious about the number and the size of files you store on this drive.
Can I Access my Computer Files Stored on my H Drive From Home?
Your H: drive is accessible from any computer that is connected to the Internet.
