Biography
Jodi has been a student of Purdue University Calumet since 1993.
She began in the major of Meteorology, but then made the transition
to Radio and Television. She participated in an internship in
Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida as an Attractions Hostess.
She then continued to work for Walt Disney World in Orlando from
August of 1996 to January of 1998. Jodi then moved back to
Indiana so she could continue her studies at Purdue Calumet.
Throughout her course of study at Purdue University Calumet, she has
participated in two internships other than the Walt Disney World
College Program. She interned at O’Connor Casting Company in
Chicago, IL in the summer of 1999. At the present time, she is
involved in an internship with WGN-TV with Meteorologist Tom
Skilling. This is her second semester as a Lab Instructor of
the Radio and Television Studio in Porter Hall. Jodi also
worked for Student Support Services as a reader during the fall
semester of 1999. Having been included on the Dean’s List for
four consecutive semesters, she received a Merit Scholarship for the
academic year of 1999-2000, and was selected to attend a reception
at the Chancellor’s residence as an outstanding student of the
Communication and Creative Arts Department. She has been
involved in the Northwest Indiana Symphony Chorus in which she sang
“second alto” in the Christmas concert of 1999. She was
awarded with the title of “Fitness Member of the Month” for the
month of February. This is a program promoted by the Total
Fitness Center at Purdue Calumet. Along with her various job
positions, she is also employed by St. George Broadcasting in
Hammond, Indiana as a part-time Account Executive in the Sales
Department.
Jodi will always cherish her experiences at Purdue University
Calumet. The faculty, staff, and students of the Communication
and Creative Arts Department have created a unique and special
atmosphere that gave her the motivation to excel in her course of
study.
